Job Summary

Our client is seeking a .NET Developer to design, develop, test and deploy scalable back-end solutions within a banking environment. The successful candidate will translate business problems and user needs into secure, maintainable software; design and implement physical data models; build integrations, reporting functionality and data ingestion pipelines; and support reliable deployment and performance across runtime environments. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on software development experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Understand the business problem, context and user's needs

• Design physical data models based on conceptual and logical models

• Implement data models while ensuring accuracy, integrity and consistency, and expose functionality using web sockets and RESTful APIs

• Develop high-quality, testable and efficient code for back-end business logic, integration and reporting functionality

• Implement data ingestion pipelines and stage data for business logic processing

• Create and continuously run unit tests for all code produced

• Build, test and deploy code artefacts into various runtime environments for internal and external users

• Document technical functionality, APIs and deployment steps

• Implement measurable performance metrics and benchmarks

Technical Skills

• 5+ years’ software development experience

• Advanced C# and .NET/.NET Core: delegates, events, generics, lambdas, extension methods and attributes.

• Strong ASP.NET Core: Minimal APIs, MVC, Web API, REST APIs and WebSockets

• Architecture/design: Singleton, Factory, Observer, Strategy, SOLID, DDD, Clean Architecture, MVC, MVVM, Hexagonal, microservices and SOA

• Dependency Injection: Microsoft DI, Autofac/Unity; testability, maintainability and loose coupling

• Async/concurrency: TPL, async streams, async/await, threads, tasks, locks, synchronisation, parallel and thread-safe programming

• Secure coding: authentication, authorisation, data protection, SQL injection, XSS and CSRF mitigation

• Database/data: RDBMS, design, indexing, query optimisation, stored procedures, EF Core, Dapper, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, physical modelling and data ingestion/staging

• Distributed/unstructured data: Cosmos DB, Azure Blob Storage, RabbitMQ/message queues, Redis/distributed caching, SOA and microservices

• Azure/DevOps: AKS, ACA, App Service, Functions, Service Bus, Storage, Networking, Security, Docker, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps CI/CD and Aspire for front ends, APIs, containers and databases

• Python and JavaScript advantageous

• Tertiary qualification required; Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT or related field advantageous

• .NET/Azure certifications advantageous, e.g. Azure Developer Associate or Azure Fundamentals
