We are seeking an experienced Apache Kafka Administrator to join a high-performing middleware and integration
team supporting enterprise banking platforms. The successful candidate will administer, monitor and optimise Apache
Kafka environments, ensuring secure, reliable and high-performing event streaming services. The role focuses on
Kafka administration, broker management, security, troubleshooting and high availability while supporting enterprise
integration initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Apache Kafka clusters across enterprise environments.
- Configure and manage Kafka brokers, topics, partitions and consumer groups.
- Monitor Kafka platform health, performance and capacity.
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of Kafka platform issues.
- Implement replication, high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Configure and maintain Kafka security using SSL, SASL and authentication mechanisms.
- Support Kafka Connect, Schema Registry and Kafka Streams implementations.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure and operations teams.
- Support production incidents and platform upgrades.
- Produce technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions.
- Ensure platform stability, scalability and performance.

Package & Remuneration
- 5+ years' experience within Apache Kafka Administration, Middleware Administration or Event Streaming
- environments.
- Strong hands-on experience administering Apache Kafka, including Kafka Architecture, Broker Management,
- Consumer Groups, Replication, High Availability (HA), Security (SSL/SASL), Monitoring and Troubleshooting is
- mandatory.
- Experience supporting enterprise Kafka platforms, including performance tuning, log analysis, production support
- and platform optimisation, is mandatory.
- Experience implementing secure, scalable and resilient event streaming solutions within enterprise environments
- is mandatory.
- Experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry and Kafka Streams will be advantageous.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, IBM MQ Integration, Event-Driven Architecture, ELK Stack and Dynatrace
- will be advantageous.
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related
- field.
- Relevant Apache Kafka, Confluent or cloud platform certifications will be advantageous.
