We are seeking an experienced Yard Manager to oversee key operational functions within our construction business. The role is responsible for the management of company assets including vehicles, tools, plant and equipment within the company yard and on- site operations. The successful candidate will lead storemen and yard staff while overseeing various admin controls to ensure assets remain current, well maintained and operationally efficient. All in line with company policies & industry standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operations & Asset Management
- Manage company assets including tracking, maintenance, utilization, Optimisation and lifecycle planning (Tools, vehicles, plant & office)
- Maintain asset registers and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Oversee plant and equipment allocation, maintenance, repairs, and replacement planning.
- Plant, Equipment & Yard Operations
- Ensure availability and cost-effective use of construction plant and equipment across projects.
- Manage yard operations to maintain safe, organized storage of plant, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Procurement & Inventory Control.
- Supervise storeroom operations including inventory control, issuing, returns, and stock reconciliation.
- Manage Storemen and oversee the allocation and distribution of tools, and ensure effective control, tracking, and accountability of all tools and equipment.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
- Diploma in Business management/Logistics management(Desirable)
- Some Construction backgcround
- Valid driver's licence.
