- The Works Foreman is responsible for overseeing construction and maintenance activities on-site, ensuring projects comply with specifications and are completed on time and within budget.
- This role requires strong leadership skills in managing teams of workers, resources, and project timelines to deliver quality results in alignment with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of workers in daily operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Coordinate the workflow and assign tasks to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
- Monitor the quality of work and materials used, conducting regular inspections to maintain standards.
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of materials, labor, and equipment used on specific projects.
- Provide training and mentoring to team members to enhance skills and performance.
- Troubleshoot project-related issues proactively, implementing solutions to avoid delays.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and occupational health and safety regulations throughout project execution.
Requirements
- Proven track record in construction management or a similar supervisory role within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and safety regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage team dynamics.
- Demonstrable experience in project planning and resource allocation.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in construction management, project management, or a related field.
- Experience with construction management software and tools.
- Knowledge of environmental management practices in construction.
