- Qualified Diesel Mechanic essential
- Minimum 6 years' relevant experience essential
- Strong diesel mechanical, hydraulic and fault-finding skills
- Earthmoving/heavy equipment experience preferred
- Previous workshop foreman, management or leadership experience preferred
- Must be computer literate
- Valid driver's licence
- Must be able to communicate in English and isiZulu
- Strong leadership and staff-management ability
- Good planning, organisation and maintenance administration skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop
- Supervise and allocate work to workshop staff
- Oversee repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Minimise machine downtime
- Manage service schedules and maintenance records
- Control parts usage and workshop costs
- Coordinate breakdown repairs
- Report on fleet condition and upcoming maintenance requirements
