Job Description

  • Repairs punctures, replaces components / batteries on charge and cleans engine parts with the required liquids / detergents.
  • Jacks vehicle, removes wheels, assemble tools, materials and waste containers in preparation for repairs, maintenance and servicing of vehicles and equipment.
  • Undertakes minor servicing of vehicles, i.e. changing oil, greasing of all relevant parts, removal and replacement of oil / fuel filters as well as air cleaners / filters.
  • Performs tasks associated with the removal and refitting of engines, gearboxes, exhaust systems, wheels/brakes drums, starter motors, alternators, fan belts etc.
  • Cleans worksites and attends to the storage and safekeeping of mechanical tools.

Essential Requirements

  • An appropriate level of primary education.
  • 6 Months relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • An appropriate level of secondary education.
  • 1 Year relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be physically and mentally capable of carrying out the duties of the post, which may involve the lifting and carrying of heavy items and materials.

Qualifications Essential Experience:

  • 1 Month relevant experience.

Preferred Experience

  • 3 Months relevant experience.

Essential Qualifications

  • An appropriate level of primary education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An appropriate level of secondary education.
