Start free — we apply for you →Our reputable Long-Haul Transport & Logistics Client is seeking a Fleet Controller to join their team based in Westmead, KwaZulu-Natal.This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to build a career within fleet management, transport and logistics.Minimum Requirements- Matric / Grade 12 is essential.- Exposure to transport, logistics, fleet operations, or truck operations would be advantageous. - Must have a valid driver's license.- Must be computer literate.- Strong communication and organizational skills.- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced transport environment.Purpose of the RoleThe Fleet Controller will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the company's fleet and drivers.The role includes coordinating and monitoring daily transport operations, assisting with route and trip planning, monitoring drivers and vehicles, managing operational queries, and ensuring that deliveries are completed efficiently and according to client requirements.The successful candidate will work closely with drivers and the operations team to ensure exceptional service delivery while developing their knowledge and experience within fleet and transport operations.Key ResponsibilitiesFleet Management & Operations- Oversee and assist with the management of an allocated fleet of vehicles.- Monitor vehicle movements and daily fleet operations.- Coordinate and schedule vehicle maintenance.- Conduct and coordinate weekly vehicle checks.- Monitor vehicle servicing and wash-bay requirements.- Assist with vehicle breakdowns where applicable.- Monitor and coordinate vehicle licensing requirements.- Monitor diesel consumption and identify irregularities.- Assist with general fleet administration.Trip & Route Management- Manage and monitor trips from dispatch through to completion.- Load trips onto the company's in-house application/system.- Assist with route planning and scheduling.- Monitor drivers and vehicle movements throughout trips.- Ensure successful loading of goods at client sites.- Ensure all relevant documentation and paperwork is completed correctly.- Assist with the planning and scheduling of outstanding orders from previous loading cycles together with newly received orders.Driver Management- Coordinate and monitor drivers' working hours.- Communicate daily trip and operational requirements to drivers.- Work closely with drivers to ensure operational efficiencies.- Assist with resolving driver and operational queries.- Ensure drivers comply with company procedures and openEmail cv's to - hr@arkenterprise.co.za, enquiries@arkenterprise.co.za
