• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent Technical Certificate. • Tertiary Trade Qualification. • Tertiary qualification in Production Management, Manufacturing, Operations Management or a related field will be advantageous. • Qualification in Production and/or Stock Management will be advantageous. Experience
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Workshop Management and/or Production Management role. • Alternatively, at least 5 years' experience as a Workshop Mechanic combined with significant production leadership experience. • Previous experience within the construction or manufacturing sector is essential. • Demonstrated experience managing workshop operations, production planning, staff and operational performance. • Proven experience in stock management and procurement. • Experience implementing production systems and process improvements. Technical Skills
• Strong production planning capability. • Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings. • Excellent technical fault-finding skills. • Basic electrical knowledge. • Competent with hand tools and power tools. • Working knowledge of fabrication processes. • Practical welding knowledge (TIG, ARC, COâ?? and Spot Welding). • Ability to work safely at heights where required. • Strong computer literacy. Responsibilities: Workshop Management
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop. • Lead, supervise, mentor and develop workshop personnel. • Allocate workloads and monitor productivity to ensure production targets are achieved. • Ensure workshop equipment, machinery and tools are maintained in good working order. • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence.
