This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys speaking to customers, developing new business and actively looking for opportunities, while also being comfortable with the administration and attention to detail required for tender submissions. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is
* Confident and comfortable making cold calls every day. * Well-spoken and professional when dealing with customers. * Persistent and able to follow up without needing constant supervision. * Target-driven and motivated by generating new business. * Highly organised and attentive to detail. * Comfortable working with forms, documents, spreadsheets and deadlines. * Able to read instructions carefully and follow a process. * Able to take initiative and solve routine problems independently. * Reliable, punctual and accountable for their work. * Comfortable working in a small, hands-on business environment.
LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION
Strong spoken and written English is essential.
The ability to communicate confidently in one or more South African languages, such as isiZulu, Sesotho, Setswana, isiXhosa or Afrikaans, will be an advantage.
We deal with customers from a wide range of backgrounds, so the successful candidate must be comfortable communicating professionally with different people and organisations.
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in one or more of the following will be advantageous:
B2B sales • telesales • hospitality sales • healthcare/hospital sales • wholesale sales • business development • tender administration • bid coordination • procurement administration
Previous tender experience is an advantage, but we are prepared to consider a strong sales candidate who demonstrates excellent attention to detail and the ability to learn the tender process.
Basic competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, email and internet research is required.
