The Warehousing and Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of warehousing, production, and logistics activities. This role ensures compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHAS) regulations, manages inventory effectively, drives cost efficiency, oversees the effective use of the Warehouse Management System (WMS), and implements risk management strategies to optimize supply chain performance. Duties & Responsibilities

Warehousing Operations Manage daily warehousing operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of goods. Ensure optimal layout and space utilisation to maximise efficiency. Implement best practices for inventory control and stock management. Manage and monitor warehouse operating expenses to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to budgetary constraints. Oversee labour costs associated with warehouse operations, ensuring efficient staffing levels and productivity. Analyse labour utilisation and implement strategies to optimise workforce efficiency while controlling costs.

Logistics Management Coordinate transportation and logistics activities to ensure timely delivery of products. Monitor transportation and logistics costs to ensure adherence to best practices and identify the most cost-effective solutions. Analyse cost data to develop strategies for reducing expenses while maintaining service quality. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and logistics partners. Monitor and analyse logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Production Oversight Collaborate with production teams to align warehousing and logistics with production schedules. Ensure that production materials are available and managed effectively. Monitor fill rates to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Analyse order fulfilment data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Implement quality assurance protocols to maintain high standards in product manufacturing.

OHAS Compliance Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for warehouse staff. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.

Inventory Management Oversee inventory management processes, including stock counts, financial stock take and reconciliation. Utilise inventory management systems to track and report on stock levels. Analyse inventory turnover rates and implement strategies to reduce excess stock within the warehouses.

WMS and Systems Management Oversee the effective use, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Ensure system processes support accurate inventory control, order fulfilment, receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch activities. Monitor WMS compliance and data accuracy to support operational efficiency, reporting, and decision-making. Identify system-related issues, coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders, and support system enhancements where required. Train and guide warehouse staff on correct system usage to ensure process compliance and effective utilisation of WMS functionality.

Risk Management Identify potential risks in warehousing and logistics operations and develop mitigation strategies. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to protect staff and assets. Maintain documentation related to risk management and compliance

Team Leadership Lead, train, and mentor warehouse and logistics staff to ensure high performance. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Matric Logistics Management qualification Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and compliance requirements. Proficiency in inventory management systems, logistics systems, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Experience in warehousing, logistics, production planning, inventory control, and stock management. Strong understanding of cost control, labour utilisation, and operational efficiency. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of risk management principles, compliance processes, and audit requirements. Package & Remuneration
