Warehouse/Logistics Manager

Introduction

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Warehouse / Logistics Manager to oversee all warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of goods while maintaining high standards of operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in warehouse and logistics management, strong leadership capabilities, and experience managing teams within a fast-paced warehousing or distribution environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and logistics function

• Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including receiving, storage, dispatch, and distribution

• Ensure accurate inventory management, stock control, and cycle counting processes

• Develop and implement warehouse procedures to improve operational efficiency

• Monitor inventory levels and investigate stock discrepancies and variances

• Coordinate transportation, deliveries, and logistics scheduling

• Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered on time

• Lead, mentor, and manage warehouse and logistics personnel

• Monitor team performance and implement training and development initiatives

• Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards

• Analyse operational performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

• Prepare warehouse and logistics reports for management

• Manage warehouse resources, equipment, and space utilisation effectively

• Liaise with suppliers, transport providers, customers, and internal departments to ensure seamless operations

• Assist with budgeting, cost control, and operational planning

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Management, or a related field (Preferred)

• Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse and logistics management

• Proven experience managing warehouse operations and logistics teams

• Strong knowledge of inventory management, stock control, and warehouse best practices

• Experience within warehousing, distribution, import, or related logistics environments

• Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems

• Valid driver's licence

Advantageous

• Experience within import/export logistics

• Exposure to distribution centre operations

• Knowledge of supply chain planning and optimisation

• Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives

• Health and Safety knowledge within warehouse environments
