Warehouse Team Leader - Supply Chain Graduate

Introduction

Our client, a leading international food company with it plant based in Wolseley in the Western Cape, is looking to appoint a Warehouse Team Leader.

The ideal person should have a Bachelors degree in a related field, strong leadership skills, and a keen interest in Supply Chain.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise daily warehouse operations, including picking, packing, staging, and dispatch, ensuring workflows are followed and priorities are managed effectively.

• Perform and oversee final stock checking before dispatch, verifying correct products, quantities, batch numbers, expiry dates, and packaging against picking slips and invoices.

• Enforce warehouse SOPs, GDP/GPP principles, and company policies, including cleanliness, stock rotation (FEFO), segregation of regulated items, and safe handling of goods.

• Investigate and report stock discrepancies, damages, and picking errors promptly, maintaining accurate records and escalating issues to management where required.

• Support and guide warehouse staff through on-the-job supervision, ensuring accountability, accuracy, and adherence to operational standards at all times.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail, and the ability to accurately check stock, batch numbers, expiry dates, quantities, and documentation under time pressure.

• An understanding of warehouse processes, SOP compliance, and stock control principles within a regulated distribution environment.

• Able-bodied and physically fit, with the capacity to assist with manual handling and loading of stock when required.

• Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Excel for simple stock or checklist tracking and email for internal communication and reporting.

• A related Bachelors degree

• A minimum of 12 months experience
