This job is responsible for receiving stock items from suppliers into the warehouse, picking required stock
as per the production schedule & dispatching items to production. Execution of material handling activities
are done though mechanical means (forklifts) or by hand. The position is also responsible for the
execution of physical stock counting & bin maintenance activities (labelling, etc).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations
- Monitors work output of a team
- Understands priorities and day -to-day planned work output
- SHE Adherence
- Remains up to date with Health & Safety procedures
- Execute and adhere to SHE policies and procedures
- Implements safety awareness in all activities
- Materials receiving
- Assist with documentation control & data accuracy
- Match & count stock
- Materials handling - unpacking / packing / binning
- Material handling - picking
- Stock count execution
- Bin maintenance
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Higher Certificate / Diploma in Purchasing / Warehouse Management / Supply Chain
- NQF Level 4
- First Aid Level 2
- Forklift Licence
- Min 2 years experience in Warehousing as a Team Leader
- Understanding of Warehouse Operations including Picking, Packing, Stock counting & Bin maintenance
- Computer literacy - MS Word, Excel & Sage Evolution
- Knowledge of ISO Environment, Health & Safety & Quality Management as well as Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Team player
- Structured & meticulous
- Forklift Licence
