Warehouse Supply and Logistics Manager

The Warehouse Manager is accountable for the integrity, security and efficient operation of all stores functions at the underground chrome mine, comprising Mining Stores, Plant Stores, Diesel and Oil Stores, Capital Stores and Underground Stores. The role exists to safeguard inventory valued at approximately R75 Million, to ensure that receiving, issuing and stock count processes are accurate and well controlled, and to maintain the availability of critical spares and consumables required to sustain uninterrupted mining and plant operations. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the incumbent provides strong governance over stores value and working capital while leading a team of approximately 25 people. Absolute integrity, sound judgement and disciplined control are central to this role.

A relevant tertiary qualification (diploma or degree) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Inventory/Warehouse Management, Procurement or Finance (strongly preferred). Experience in the Mining environment essential, with at least 5 years experience in similar role. Duties & Responsibilities

Implement and enforce robust physical security, access control and segregation-of-duties measures to prevent loss, theft and unauthorized removal of stock. Identify, investigate and resolve stock losses, discrepancies and shrinkage, and escalate suspected irregularities promptly and transparently. Maintain a clean, safe, orderly and well-organized storeroom environment that protects stock condition and value.

Set, maintain and continuously review minimum and maximum stock levels to balance availability against working-capital efficiency. Manage the availability of critical spares to safeguard production continuity and minimize operational downtime. Proactively monitor critical spares and notify Procurement in good time when long-lead items need to be ordered, preventing production-impacting stock-outs. Administer consignment store arrangements, including reconciliation, usage reporting, and supplier interface for consigned stock. Manage rotatable stores, maintaining accurate records of the status, location and value of rotatable and repairable items throughout their lifecycle. Ensure inventory items sent for strip and quote are properly recorded and tracked, and follow these items. Manage and report on total stores value, ensuring valuations are accurate and supported. Optimize inventory holding and working capital while maintaining required service levels to operations. Support the Finance Manager with month-end reconciliations, inventory provisions and reporting.
