Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Reporting To: Warehouse Manager / Operations Manager Employment Type: Full-time
Purpose of the Role
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring that medical equipment and supplies are stored, handled, and distributed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory and company standards. The role involves supervising warehouse staff, monitoring stock levels, coordinating logistics, and maintaining accurate records of inventory and shipments.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching medical supplies and equipment.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards, and company policies.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure optimal inventory.
Maintain proper storage conditions for sensitive medical equipment and supplies.
Conduct regular warehouse inspections and maintain a clean, organized, and secure warehouse.
Team Management
Supervise, coach, and mentor warehouse staff to ensure productivity and high-quality performance.
Allocate tasks efficiently, monitor workload, and evaluate team performance.
Maintain good team morale and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Logistics & Administration
Coordinate shipping schedules with suppliers, distributors, and transport partners.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of goods received and dispatched.
Implement and monitor warehouse systems and processes to improve efficiency.
Report on warehouse performance, stock discrepancies, and incidents to management.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure all handling and storage procedures comply with regulatory requirements for medical supplies.
Enforce safety protocols, proper use of equipment, and correct handling of medical devices.
Maintain records for audits, inspections, and compliance purposes.
Qualifications & Experience
Matric / Grade 12 required; relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Supply Chain, Logistics, or Warehouse Management) is an advantage.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in warehouse supervision, preferably in medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare logistics .
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
Forklift operation certification advantageous.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance in warehouse operations.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
