Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our warehouse team and oversee daily warehouse operations. The successful candidate will ensure efficient stock movement, strong team performance, accurate inventory management and a safe, well-organised working environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Allocate daily tasks, manage staff schedules and ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Conduct daily planning/morning meetings and manage the casual staff register.
  • Monitor staff productivity, attendance, discipline and overall team performance.
  • Track daily KPIs and address performance concerns.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and training to warehouse staff.
  • Enforce company policies, SOPs and workplace standards.
  • Oversee receiving, storage, picking, checking, packing and dispatch of goods.
  • Oversee container offloading, local stock receiving and vehicle loading.
  • Ensure accurate stock rotation and minimise stock discrepancies.
  • Manage stock movement between warehouses and optimise warehouse space.
  • Oversee return crates, damaged stock, dump processes and pallet repairs.
  • Coordinate stock consolidation and compression across warehouse sites.
  • Work closely with procurement and logistics teams regarding stock levels and delivery schedules.
  • Support and back up random inspection audits conducted by Safety and Security Officers.
  • Ensure staff follow all health, safety and security requirements.
  • Monitor the correct use of ladders, equipment and warehouse handling machinery.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments.
  • Perform entrance checks for employees entering the premises.
  • Conduct fuel checks on forklifts/Hysters and ensure handling equipment is maintained.
  • Report and arrange repairs for damaged equipment where required.
  • Ensure warehouse cleanliness, housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly operational reports.
  • Monitor and report on warehouse productivity, KPIs and operational performance.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damages, delays and operational issues.
  • Maintain and update warehouse SOPs as operations evolve.
  • Escalate operational, stock, safety and equipment issues to senior management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity and stock accuracy.
  • Assist with warehouse planning, layout optimisation and process improvements.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate – required.
  • Diploma or qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management or a related field – advantageous.
  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Previous experience managing warehouse teams.
  • Strong knowledge of stock handling, receiving, picking and dispatch processes.
  • Knowledge of warehouse health, safety and security requirements.
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Excel.
