About Role
Are you an experienced Warehouse Supervisor with a strong background in steel, tube or related industrial products? We are looking for a hands-on and organised Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations, stock control, dispatch and a team of warehouse staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities and allocated staff.
- Oversee the receiving, picking, loading and dispatching of stock.
- Verify received stock against tally sheets and ensure correct storage.
- Check picking slips and invoices and ensure the correct quantities and product sizes are picked.
- Use measuring equipment such as verniers and tape measures to verify product dimensions.
- Ensure all stock leaving the warehouse has the required documentation.
- Ensure picking slips, invoices and PODs are correctly completed and submitted.
- Complete and maintain trip sheets and warehouse documentation.
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly stock counts.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Ensure shelves and allocated stock areas are properly maintained and stocked.
- Inspect vehicles and loads before departure and ensure loads comply with maximum weight requirements.
- Ensure transfers and customer collections are processed efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.
- Supervise staff attendance, working hours, overtime and break times.
- Handle customer queries and assist with urgent loading requirements.
- Report incidents, absenteeism and stock shortages to the Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure compliance with OHSACT, safety and loss-control requirements.
- Perform general administration and any other duties assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years' warehouse experience.
- Previous supervisory/team leadership experience.
- Experience in the steel, tube, engineering, construction materials or related industry will be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of stock control, receiving and dispatch procedures.
- Experience with stock takes and warehouse administration.
- Ability to work day and night shifts.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Good administrative and organisational abilities.
- Good product knowledge and attention to detail.
- Customer-service focused with a positive attitude.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse environment.
