Warehouse Supervisor

Introduction

Lexdan Select is assiting a manufacturer with their search for a warehouse manufacturer in Blackheath, Cape Town.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Receiving & Goods-In

Plan and oversee incoming deliveries — from unloading and quality checks through to GRN processing, barcoding, and accurate SYSPRO updates for stock location and receipt.

2. Production Support (Kitting & Picking)

Plan and control material picking/kitting to meet production schedules, ensure kit accuracy, flag shortages early, and coordinate closely with Buyers, Assembly, and Fabrication teams.

3. Inventory Control

Maintain accurate stock records and bin locations in SYSPRO, run cycle counts/stocktakes, investigate variances, and safeguard stock against loss or damage.

4. Warehouse Layout & Housekeeping

Optimise storage layout for efficient, safe material flow; keep staging areas clearly defined and aisles/work areas clear and orderly.

5. Safety, Quality & Compliance

Enforce safety standards (stacking, forklifts, PPE, working at height), correct hazards, verify incoming/outgoing component quality, and support incident investigations and toolbox talks.

6. Team Leadership

Manage daily/weekly workload allocation, coach staff on procedures and systems, handle discipline and performance feedback, and report on warehouse KPIs and risks to management.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent

• Valid forklift licence (where forklift operation is required)

• A warehousing, logistics, inventory, or supervisory/management qualification is advantageous

• Practical warehouse/stores experience in a manufacturing environment

• Prior team-leading or supervisory experience

• Working knowledge of an ERP system (SYSPRO experience advantageous)

• Hands-on experience with receiving, stock control, picking/kitting, cycle counting, and warehouse safety

Package & Remuneration

R25 000 to R35 000 p.m.
