Introduction

We are looking to recruit a permanent Warehouse Supervisor (Inventory) to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD) Cape Town. The role will be based at the Cape Town branch and will report to the Department Manager in Wholesale Inventory. Duties & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

• Responsible for the effective and accurate management and control of inventory within the warehouse ensuring good Wholesale & Distribution Practice is applied. Accountable for mantaining inventory intergrity accross the warehouse, ensuring accurate stock levels for customers, minimizing stock losses, managing stock investigations and support operational excellence throught the distribution centre. Job Objectives: 1. Inventory Accuracy and Control

• Monitor stock levels and inventory movements. • Investigate and resolve inventory variances. • Ensure all stock transactions are processed accurately in the system. • Conduct cycle counts and annual stock takes. 2. Stock Reconciliation

• Reconcile physical stock against system records. • Identify, investigate, and report discrepancies. • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring inventory issues. 3. Team Supervision

• Manage and supervise inventory controllers and stock clerks. • Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance. • Ensure staff are trained on SOPs and inventory processes. 4. Warehouse Compliance

• Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and quality standards. • Support audit requirements and maintain accurate inventory records. • Ensure proper handling of regulated and sensitive stock. 5. Reporting and Analysis

• Generate inventory reports and KPI dashboards. • Monitor stock losses, damages, expiries, and adjustments. • Provide recommendations to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. 6. Investigations and Root Cause Analysis

• Investigate stock gains, losses, and customer complaints related to inventory. • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures. 7. Coordination with Other Departments

  • Liaise with Receiving, Picking, Dispatch, Procurement, Quality, and Finance teams.
  • Ensure inventory availability to support customer orders and service levels.

Job related knowledge and skills

• Computer skills on MS Office (Word and Excel Level 3) • Product knowledge • Financial understanding - budget. • Experience in Warehouse Management System (KNAPP and SAP Experience will be advantageous) • People Management essential Competencies required:

Desired Experience & Qualification

Experience and Education

  • Matric/NQF Level 4 (Essential)
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications (Advantageous)
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a Pharmaceutical/ Distribution & Wholesale/ FMCG/ Supply Chain & Logistic environment (Essential)
  • 2 Years’ experience in dealing with stock management or inventory related functions
  • 1-2 years supervisory/people management experience (essential)
