- Macsteel Fluid Control Secunda is looking for a driven and passionate Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the overall operations of a warehouse, including supervising the staff and ensuring all aspects of the warehouse run efficiently and effectively.
- This includes managing various operational areas to guarantee smooth workflows and adherence to established standards. A key responsibility is to oversee inventory control processes, ensuring that they align with the organization's policies and procedures.
- The role also requires coordinating with other departments to address any issues related to inventory and operations, fostering a collaborative environment to enhance productivity.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12
- 5 Years supervisory experience in a warehouse environment
- Ability to take responsibility and accountability for warehouse operations
- Strong knowledge of material grades for valves, pipe, fittings, flanges, structural steel products are important
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have a sound working knowledge of SAP
- Must operate a Crane and Forklift valid licence
- Able to read, write and communicate in English and use measuring equipment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Good administration skills
- Sound Knowledge of the OHS Act
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to motivate others
- Must be organized and manage time efficiently
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Prepared to multi-task, work overtime or flexible shifts when required
- Position is based in Secunda – candidates from within this region is preferred.
- Drives licence essential + PDP advantage
Duties and Responsibilities Warehouse Management:
- Manage and oversee all inventory control processes in line with organizational policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all warehouse processes and procedures are performed effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure that receiving, storage, picking and loading is done accurately, promptly and utilising an optimised warehouse workforce.
- Ensure that vehicles are loaded in line with the required priorities and shipment/loading schedules.
- Ensure all necessary items are sufficiently stocked under area of control.
- Ensure that stock on floor is accurately reflected on SAP in all aspects quantity, location etc.
- Manage daily operations to prevent bottlenecks.
- Flexibly allocating workforce from areas of low activity to areas of high activity to ensure optimal operation of the entire warehouse.
- Responsible for liaising crane, side loader and equipment breakdowns with the relevant maintenance department for immediate repairs.
- Ensure the disbursement of scrap is executed in line with company policies and procedures.
- Provide input into workforce planning and implement approved labour plans
- Manage employee attendance, working hours and overtime.
- Manage workforce to ensure required complement of staff is available in case of absenteeism.
- Develop and coach team members and encourage knowledge transfer.
- Ensure compliance with OHS Act.
- Comply with work rules, standards and methods.
- Take care to minimise waste.
- Identify and provide feedback on cost saving initiatives within area of control.
- Responsible for all stock, stock movements and audits.
- Assist in various safety Compliance Audits
- Compile month end warehouse reports
- Housekeeping and filing
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Resolve customer queries, complaints, and service-related issues professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Operational & Commercial Coordination
- Liaise with production, planning, and dispatch teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Ensure accurate order specifications and delivery timelines.
- Follow up on outstanding orders and customer commitments.
- Resolve operational issues impacting customer service delivery.
- Ensure stock aligns with business requirements and planning.
Financial Performance
- Achieve Monthly Operations Target.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and SHEQ requirements.
- Adhere to safe working practices and report risks or non-conformances.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, ethics, and accountability
