Introduction

Nashua Cape Town is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and highly organized Warehouse Stock Controller to manage and maintain the accuracy of all warehouse inventory. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling stock movement, ensuring inventory accuracy, supporting daily warehouse operations, and maintaining company standards for stock control, safety, and customer service.

This role requires an individual who takes ownership of their work, demonstrates integrity, and is committed to maintaining an efficient warehouse environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Stock Control & Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate stock records at all times.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming stock against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Process all stock receipts, transfers, returns, and adjustments accurately on the company ERP system.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or overstock situations.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts.
  • Assist with annual stock takes and investigations of stock variances.
  • Ensure stock is correctly labelled, stored, and easily identifiable.

Warehouse Operations

  • Ensure all stock is stored safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain an organised, clean, and efficient warehouse.
  • Prepare stock for technicians, deliveries, and customer collections.
  • Verify outgoing stock before dispatch.
  • Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when required.
  • Ensure damaged or obsolete stock is identified and reported promptly.

Administration

  • Maintain accurate stock documentation and filing.
  • Update inventory records in real time.
  • Produce stock reports as requested by management.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate serial number records where applicable.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all company policies and warehouse procedures.
  • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ensure security of company assets and inventory.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding company information.

Customer Service

  • Support internal departments with stock requirements.
  • Ensure technicians receive the correct stock on time.
  • Assist with customer collections professionally and efficiently.
  • Build positive working relationships across departments.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 3-5 years' experience in warehouse stock control or inventory management.
  • Valid South African driver's licence.
  • Hyster License required
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and inventory/ERP systems.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Successful candidate will have to do “shipping” of stock.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following will be advantageous

  • Office automation or technology environment.
  • Inventory management software.
  • Barcode scanning systems.
  • Stock forecasting and reporting.
  • Warehouse management systems (WMS).

  • Stock variances investigated and resolved promptly.
  • Timely processing of stock receipts and dispatches.
  • Accurate completion of cycle counts and annual stock takes.
  • Compliance with warehouse procedures and safety standards.
  • Minimal stock losses or damages.
  • Efficient support to internal departments and technicians.
