The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the warehouse , ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of stock. The successful candidate will manage warehouse staff, maintain accurate inventory levels, ensure health and safety compliance, and drive operational efficiency.
The role requires a hands-on manager with strong leadership, organisational and stock-control skills who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse.
Ensure the efficient receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatching of stock.
Plan and coordinate daily warehouse activities.
Ensure orders are processed accurately and dispatched on time.
Maintain an organised and efficient warehouse layout.
Implement and maintain effective warehouse procedures and processes.
Monitor warehouse productivity and identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensure equipment and warehouse facilities are maintained appropriately.
Inventory & Stock Control
Take full responsibility for accurate inventory management.
Monitor stock levels and investigate discrepancies.
Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts.
Investigate and resolve stock variances.
Ensure all stock movements are accurately captured on the relevant systems.
Monitor slow-moving, obsolete and damaged stock.
Implement appropriate controls to minimise stock losses, damage and shrinkage.
Ensure correct storage and handling of products.
Team Management
Lead, manage and motivate warehouse staff.
Allocate duties and monitor daily productivity.
Manage staff attendance, performance and discipline.
Conduct training and ensure employees are competent in warehouse procedures.
Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational requirements.
Promote a positive, professional and safety-conscious working environment.
Logistics & Dispatch
Coordinate dispatches and deliveries with internal and external stakeholders.
Liaise with transport providers and logistics partners.
Ensure correct quantities and products are dispatched.
Monitor delivery schedules and resolve operational issues.
Ensure all dispatch documentation is accurate and complete.
Health & Safety
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Ensure employees follow warehouse safety procedures.
Conduct regular safety checks and address identified risks.
Ensure appropriate use of PPE and warehouse equipment.
Report and investigate incidents where required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12 / Matric.
Diploma or qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management or related field would be advantageous.
5+ years' warehouse experience , with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/management position .
Proven experience managing warehouse teams and operations.
Strong stock control and inventory management experience.
Experience working with ERP/WMS systems .
Good Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong understanding of warehouse processes and procedures.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Valid driver's licence would be advantageous
