Job & Company description
Our client is a well-established South African manufacturer and distributor supplying industrial products to customers nationwide. With a strong reputation for quality, operational excellence, and customer service, the business is focused on improving its packing and assembly operations through process optimisation, automation, and best-practice operational standards.
Lead and manage the Packing & Assembly Department, ensuring customer orders are packed accurately, efficiently, and on time. Drive productivity, quality, and safety across the operation while implementing SOPs, improving workflows, managing resources, monitoring KPIs, conducting audits, and leading continuous improvement and automation initiatives. Collaborate closely with Inventory, Receiving, Dispatch, Production, and Quality teams to ensure seamless operational performance.
Job Experience and Skills Required
- Minimum 5-8 years' experience within a manufacturing, production, packaging, assembly, engineering, industrial products, fastener, metal processing, or component manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory or management role, leading operational teams and driving performance.
- Proven experience implementing process improvements, continuous improvement initiatives, lean principles, or packaging automation projects.
- Strong knowledge of packing, assembly, quality control, SOP implementation, KPI management, productivity improvement, and operational reporting.
- Matric (Grade 12) essential, with a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field advantageous.
