Our client, based in Linbropark, is an importer and distributor of specialized high tech, scientific and IT equipment into South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa.
Their Head Office is in Sandton and they have branches throughout SA. Our client is looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the distribution of product via some 15 staff who are based both at the regional branches and at the Head Office warehouse.
The ideal candidate will have a suitable tertiary qualification and at least 5 to 7 years’ experience in running a warehouse of high priced line items which have been sourced from multiple suppliers.
Applicants must have
Knowledge of transport methods, packaging, costs and benefits
Admin skills - Pastel/Excel
Knowledge of downloading stock photos
Forklift license
Duties
Manage warehouse staff, receipting and dispatch staff including driver.
Supervising staff to ensure goods receipted are packed properly on the shelves and that the shelves are marked correctly.
Supervise daily warehouse activities
Space management
Manage receiving, handling, storing, picking and packing activities of the warehouse ensuring quality standards are met
Make sure that the receipting staff check for country of origin on all goods received.
Ensure weekly stock turns
Paperwork from the suppliers needs to be checked and inserted onto the warehouse stocklist.
Preparing paperwork and loading for transporters.
Request packing lists and invoices from the buying office.
Confirm that the items that are on the invoice are packed into the crate/pallet. If there are discrepancies advise the buying office.
Vehicle maintenance. This includes tyre rotation and service intervals
Plan the routes with the drivers and make sure to minimise wastage of klms driven.
Forklift: make sure that the forklifts are kept in working order, regular services are seen too.
