The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the efficient management of finished goods storage, inventory control, and dispatch operations, including the coordination of transport to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Inventory & Stock Control
- Ensure all stock required for orders are available and liase with Production
- Assist Stock control department with regular stock counts and resolve discrepancies
- Inspect proper labelling and traceability avalable for orders
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee daily warehouse activities (picking, packing, dispatch)
- Ensure optimal space utilisation and housekeeping
- Implement and enforce SOPs
Transport & Dispatch Management
- Plan and coordinate dispatch schedules
- Ensure correct loading and securing of goods
- Manage drivers and monitor deliveries
Staff Management
- Supervise warehouse personnel
- Manage training
- Monitor performance and enforce discipline
Equipment & Fleet
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of forklifts and equipment
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure accurate dispatch documentation
- Maintain warehouse records and reports
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OHSA requirements
- Enforce PPE usage and safe practices
Continuous Improvement
- Identify efficiency improvements and cost-saving initiatives
Coordination
- Liaise with production, sales, and procurement teams for planning
- Prepare daily dlivery schedules and attend planning meetings
KPI's
- Stock accuracy
- On-time delivery
- Picking accuracy
- Warehouse productivity
- Transport efficiency
- Damage and loss rates
Desired Experience & Qualification
- 3-5 years experience in warehouse management
- Knowledge of inventory control systems
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Understanding of health and safety regulations
- Valid forklift license (advantageous)
