Warehouse Manager

Introduction

Our client, a well-established FMCG organisation is looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee the efficient operation of a high-volume warehouse environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily warehouse operations, ensuring accurate stock control, efficient receiving and dispatch, and maintaining high operational and service standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse.

• Lead, manage and motivate warehouse staff and ensure effective allocation of responsibilities.

• Oversee receiving, checking, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch processes.

• Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure effective inventory control.

• Monitor stock movements, discrepancies, damages, shrinkage and stock losses.

• Ensure efficient warehouse layout, organisation and utilisation of space.

• Implement and maintain effective stock control and warehouse procedures.

• Coordinate with procurement, stores, sales and distribution teams to ensure smooth product flow.

• Monitor warehouse productivity, operational efficiency and key performance indicators.

• Ensure orders are accurately prepared and dispatched within required timeframes.

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and compliance.

• Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency.

• Prepare and provide relevant operational and stock reports to management.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse management , preferably within FMCG, wholesale or retail.

• Proven experience managing a high-volume warehouse operation .

• Strong experience in stock control, receiving and dispatch .

• Previous experience managing and leading a sizeable warehouse team.

• Strong understanding of inventory management and warehouse processes.

• Experience with stock-taking, stock discrepancies, shrinkage and loss control.

• Strong organisational, problem-solving and leadership skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

• Good computer literacy and experience with warehouse/inventory systems.

• FMCG, Cash & Carry or wholesale experience will be highly advantageous.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on Warehouse Manager who can take ownership of the operation, lead from the front and ensure that the warehouse runs efficiently, accurately and consistently.

The successful candidate will be results-driven, organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing both people and operational challenges in a high-volume FMCG environment.
