Warehouse Manager

Introduction

CWare is recruiting a Warehouse Manager for a client operating a retail distribution warehouse in Cape Town.

This is a hands-on, high-energy role for someone who has successfully managed inventory, people, processes and systems. The successful candidate will be dynamic, driven and focused on continuous improvement, with the strength of character to deliver results in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

This position will suit someone who can drive results through people and meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.

Employment type: Full-time

Candidates without the relevant warehouse management experience will not be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure the warehouse is compliant with company standards

• Manage the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of a wide range of goods

• Maximise space usage within the warehouse

• Arrange and strategically plan the warehouse layout, routes and deliveries

• Track quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times and efficiencies

• Perform weekly cycle counts and investigate any inventory losses

• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets

• Facilitate effective communication within the team and across the site

• Improve staff performance through supervision, coaching and training

• Maintain accurate staff attendance records

• Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports and statistics for management

• Ensure deadlines are met timeously

• Resolve issues and complaints promptly

• Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards

• Remain on call for emergencies

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric (essential)

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Warehouse or Distribution (advantageous)

• Minimum 7 years warehouse experience

• Minimum 4 years Warehouse Manager experience

• Proven record of managing inventory, people, processes and systems

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse

• Ability to implement and improve existing processes and systems

• Strong people leadership, coaching and performance management skills

• Strong reporting and communication skills

• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport

• Ability to remain on call for emergencies

Package & Remuneration

~R35,000 per month, dependent on experience and proven track record.
