Our client operates a retail distribution warehouse.
The Role: Warehouse Manager
The purpose of this role is to manage the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods while ensuring the warehouse is compliant with company standards, policies, and procedures. The role focuses on strategic route planning, inventory control, space optimization, meeting logistics KPIs, and driving staff performance through WMS functions and productivity management tools. It requires a hands-on, high-energy individual who delivers results through people and remains on call for emergencies.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Bring a minimum of 5 years of Warehouse Manager experience to manage daily operations.
Manage the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while maximizing space usage and setting up efficient layouts.
Plan delivery routes strategically to ensure operational efficiency and cost savings.
Track quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, and complete weekly cycle counts and inventory loss investigations.
Supervise, coach, and train the warehouse team while maintaining attendance records, clocking reports, and overtime approvals.
Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and deadline targets set out in logistics KPIs.
Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports and statistics for management.
Desired Experience & Qualification
About You
Minimum of 5 years of Warehouse Manager experience.
Matric qualification.
Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
Proven ability to manage inventory, people, processes, systems, WMS functions, and productivity management tools.
Strong professional skills in process improvement, management reporting, policy interpretation, and risk mitigation.
High energy, hands-on approach, strong character, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Tertiary qualification relating to Logistics, Warehouse, or Distribution is advantageous.
