Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable Warehouse / Forklift Operator to join their team based in Parrow Industria, Cape Town.
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, loading, unloading, storing, and moving materials and finished products throughout the warehouse. The role requires a valid forklift licence and previous hands-on warehouse or logistics experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and finished products
- Load and offload 20-foot and 40-foot containers
- Move materials between receiving areas, storage locations, production areas, and delivery vehicles
- Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other material-handling equipment safely
- Receive, identify, label, and correctly store incoming materials
- Record and maintain accurate stock locations within the warehouse
- Locate and retrieve stock according to operational requirements
- Prepare finished products for dispatch
- Pick, pack, re-bag, and load products for shipment
- Ensure products are correctly identified and prepared prior to dispatch
- Conduct and report regular cycle counts
- Participate in monthly stock counts
- Assist with investigating stock discrepancies where required
- Maintain accurate warehouse and inventory records
- Ensure materials are stored safely and efficiently
- Maintain good housekeeping within the warehouse and loading areas
- Comply with all warehouse Health & Safety procedures and operating guidelines
- Assist with general warehouse duties as operationally required
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Valid Forklift Licence – minimum 3-ton capacity (Essential)
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience within a warehouse or logistics environment
- Previous experience loading and unloading trucks and containers
- Experience operating forklifts and material-handling equipment
- Experience with stock handling, receiving, dispatch, and inventory control
- Ability to read, write, understand, and follow instructions
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Willingness to work flexible hours when operationally required
- Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods, bending, and handling heavy materials
Advantageous
- Code 10 Driver's Licence with valid PDP
- Previous experience handling masterbatch, plastics, chemicals, raw materials, or similar products
- Experience loading and unloading 20-foot and 40-foot containers
- Experience conducting cycle counts and monthly stock counts
