Introduction

Our client is looking for an experienced and reliable Warehouse & Forklift Operator to join our team in Parow Industria, Cape Town.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, handling, storage and preparation of materials and finished products within the warehouse environment.

The role requires practical warehouse experience, a valid forklift licence and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Experience working with masterbatch products or within a similar manufacturing/materials environment will be advantageous.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing materials and products, including 20-foot and 40-foot containers .
  • Moving materials between loading areas, delivery vehicles and designated warehouse storage areas.
  • Identifying, labelling and recording materials and their storage locations to support accurate inventory control.
  • Preparing finished products for dispatch, including locating, picking, packing, re-bagging and loading products.
  • Operating forklifts, pallet trucks and other material-handling equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Conducting cycle counts and assisting with monthly stock counts.
  • Reporting stock discrepancies or warehouse-related issues when identified.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.
  • Complying with all company warehouse procedures, health and safety requirements and operational guidelines.
  • Performing other reasonable warehouse-related duties as required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Applicants should meet the following requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • 3–5 years' relevant experience within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or similar operational environment.
  • Valid forklift licence – 3-ton capacity.
  • Practical experience operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and follow workplace instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision when required.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail, particularly when handling, identifying and counting stock.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours when operationally required.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with a warehouse environment, including standing, walking, bending and the safe handling of materials.

Package & Remuneration

R8,000 per month

Advantageous

The following will be considered advantageous

  • Code 10 driver's licence with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
  • Previous experience working with masterbatches, plastics, polymers, raw materials or a related manufacturing environment .
  • Previous experience loading and unloading 20-foot and 40-foot containers.
  • Experience with warehouse inventory and stock-control processes.
