Introduction

Galencia Property is looking for a reliable, organised, and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant to join our operations team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing warehouse inventory, controlling stock movements, coordinating material deliveries, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations that support our construction and maintenance teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compile and coordinate weekly material procurement requests.
  • Verify stock availability before submitting purchase requests.
  • Receive and inspect deliveries against approved purchase orders and proof of delivery documentation.
  • Report quantity discrepancies or incorrect deliveries to Procurement immediately.
  • Accurately capture all incoming and outgoing stock on inventory spreadsheets.
  • Maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) stock rotation.
  • Prepare material requests for daily site dispatches.
  • Issue materials only to authorised personnel and maintain accurate issue records.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and inventory reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, stock movement, and material tracking records.
  • Ensure all warehouse areas remain clean, organised, secure, and properly labelled.
  • Safeguard warehouse keys and implement sound stock control practices.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse reports.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing measures to reduce stock losses and improve warehouse efficiency.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Assistant, Storeman, Stock Controller, or similar warehouse role.
  • Experience working with construction materials, maintenance supplies, or hardware stock will be advantageous.
  • Strong stock control and inventory management skills.
  • Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and stock recording systems.
  • Ability to reconcile stock and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Honest, reliable, and committed to maintaining high levels of accountability.
