Our client is a well-established exporting company based in South Africa, serving wholesalers, manufacturers and retailers across Southern Africa. The company manages product sourcing, procurement, importing and shipping, with a strong focus on efficient service, reliable delivery and long-term client relationships
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring efficient, safe and organised processes.
- Manage inventory levels, stock accuracy and overall inventory control.
- Coordinate receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatching of goods.
- Plan and coordinate logistics activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of shipments.
- Manage and monitor the movement of stock throughout the supply chain.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, transporters and internal teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Monitor warehouse performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and turnaround times.
- Develop and implement improved warehouse and logistics workflows and processes.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for all warehouse and logistics activities.
- Monitor stock discrepancies, investigate variances and implement corrective actions.
- Support and coordinate import and export activities, ensuring shipments are processed efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with relevant import/export regulations, shipping requirements and company procedures.
- Liaise with freight providers and relevant stakeholders to coordinate deliveries and collections.
- Monitor delivery schedules and proactively resolve delays or logistics-related issues.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring customer requirements are met efficiently and professionally.
- Track key operational and inventory performance indicators and provide regular reports to management.
- Identify operational risks and implement measures to minimise disruptions to the supply chain.
- Manage, supervise and support warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to procedures.
- Ensure the warehouse maintains high standards of health, safety, housekeeping and operational compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise warehouse and logistics operations and support the company's growing export activities.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Experience in Warehouse Management and Inventory Management
- Skills in Operations Management and optimizing workflows
- Proficiency in Supply Chain Management and coordination of logistics processes
- Strong Customer Service abilities to build client satisfaction and trust
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines
- Familiarity with export/import regulations and shipping compliance (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (advantageous)
