Job Purpose

  • The main purpose of the network Voice Engineer role is to research, plan, implement, configure, deploy and maintain high-availability, evaluating the efficiency and performance of unified communications services including the voice Infrastructure across all CPUT campuses.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience Minimum requirements:

  • Relevant National Diploma, or Degree in Information Technology, or equivalent qualification
  • LAN/WAN infrastructure and telecommunications systems
  • Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of voice and network environments
  • Wireless voice and collaboration technologies
  • IT service management and change management processes
  • Knowledge of cloud-based voice solutions such as Microsoft Teams Calling or Webex Calling
  • Voice gateway configuration and SIP trunk integration

Recommendation

  • At least / either CCNA / HCIA International certified and/or CCNA collaboration
  • ITIL Foundation certificate, COBIT 2019 Foundation and Prince 2
  • Microsoft Teams voice certification
  • At least two years' experience in network and voice engineering environments
