Hugenote Kollege is a private Christian higher education institution committed to academic excellence and the development of professionals who contribute meaningfully to society. Applications are invited for the appointment of a full-time Facilitator/Assessor in Early Childhood Development on a one-year fixed-term contract, based at the main campus in Wellington.

Requirements for the position

· A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) or Foundation Phase Education (a postgraduate qualification will be advantageous)

· Registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE)

· Registered Assessor with the ETDP SETA (compulsory)

· Good interpersonal and communication skills, including fluency in English and Afrikaans (written and spoken)

· Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)

· Experience in facilitating and assessing learning programmes in Early Childhood Development

The following will be advantageous

· Experience in curriculum and learning material development

· Good record-keeping and administrative skills

· Strong planning, organisational, and time-management abilities

· Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

The facilitator/assessor will be responsible for the facilitation and assessment of modules within the Early Childhood Development programme. The incumbent will contribute to the development and review of learning materials, provide academic support to students, participate in assessment and quality assurance processes, and assist with programme development. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate academic records and contributing to research, community engagement, and other institutional activities where applicable. The incumbent will be expected to uphold the values and mission of Hugenote Kollege and work collaboratively within the Faculty of Education.
