- An exciting opportunity is available for a Utilities Support Technician to provide hands-on support with utilities, maintenance and building services.
- The successful candidate will assist with monitoring and maintaining water, electrical and metering systems, identifying faults, carrying out basic repairs and ensuring utilities remain operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor water and electrical usage and record meter readings accurately.
- Inspect utility infrastructure and identify faults, leaks or irregularities.
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs.
- Log and escalate utility failures and maintenance issues.
- Assist with the installation, replacement and testing of meters and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records, service logs and reports.
- Assist contractors during repairs, maintenance and planned shutdowns.
- Follow all health, safety and operational procedures.
- Support the maintenance team with general technical and utility-related tasks.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Technical qualification in Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical or a related field would be advantageous.
- 2–4 years' experience in utilities, maintenance, facilities or building services.
- Basic knowledge of:
- Water systems
- Electrical systems
- Metering
- General building services
- Ability to use basic hand tools.
