An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Unit Accountant to join a prestigious hotel in Hermanus. This is a full-time, on-site position suited to a highly organised, detail-driven finance professional with strong accounting knowledge, sound ethics and the ability to manage a busy financial function.
Requirements Accounting qualification preferred Minimum 2 years’ General Ledger and high-volume accounting experience Hotel or hospitality experience advantageous Strong financial and analytical skills Intermediate to advanced Excel Experience with Xero and Opera MyMicros, Symphony or MyInventory advantageous Strong understanding of financial controls High level of confidentiality and attention to detail Excellent organisation and deadline management
Responsibilities Manage the hotel’s day-to-day accounting function Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports Bank, petty cash and credit card reconciliations Manage debtors, creditors and payment processes Monitor revenue, night audit and daily financial controls Oversee stock, inventory and operational equipment controls Prepare gross profit and trading reports Assist with annual budgets and business planning Ensure VAT, PAYE and financial compliance requirements are maintained Work closely with the Hotel General Manager, CEO and finance team
