This role is ideal for an underwriting professional with experience across both personal and commercial lines who enjoys building client relationships, assessing risk, and delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and underwrite personal and commercial insurance risks.
- Prepare, negotiate, and issue policies, endorsements, and renewals.
- Manage and maintain a portfolio of clients, brokers, and stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice on insurance products and coverage solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and underwriting standards.
- Support claims-related underwriting matters when required.
- Maintain accurate policy and underwriting documentation.
- Stay up to date with market trends, emerging risks, and industry developments.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve client queries efficiently.
Requirements
- Matric Grade 12.
- 2-5 years' underwriting experience within a short-term insurance brokerage environment.
- Exposure to both personal and commercial lines would be advantageous.
- Relevant insurance qualifications such as NQF Level 4 and RE5.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
