- Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA in Ultrasound Radiography
- Registration with HPCSA as Radiographer in Ultrasound
- Grade 1: None RSA / 1 year foreign / Grade 2: 10 years / Grade 3: 20 years
- Comprehensive sonography education and extensive hands-on experience, with emphasis on obstetrics and gynaecology
- Thorough understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Commitment to ethical practice, maintaining patient confidentiality
- Strong abilities to interact effectively with patients and medical staff
- Meticulous reporting of ultrasound findings
DUTIES
- Perform full range of obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound scans, including routine, level II/III, and specialised assessments
- Use advanced ultrasound equipment to produce accurate diagnostic images
- Identify normal and abnormal findings, provide clear structured reports
- Adopt responsibility for back-up and storage of ultrasound images
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centred care
- Manage administration and care of ultrasound equipment
- Participate in departmental meetings, case discussions, audits
- Support junior staff and students through mentorship
