The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of products to customers, maintaining vehicles in a clean and roadworthy condition, and providing professional customer service. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and map out driving routes to determine the most efficient routes for deliveries.
- Ensure delivery loads match delivery notes before departure and that loads are stable and properly secured.
- Maintain the truck and vehicle in a safe, clean, and roadworthy condition.
- Ensure that deliveries are completed timeously and that delivery targets are achieved.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers and provide professional service during deliveries.
- Schedule regular vehicle servicing and report any issues in accordance with the driver's log sheet.
- Obtain and document customer confirmations for returned pallets in the pallet return book.
- Participate in stocktaking when required.
- Complete daily vehicle operator check sheets and maintain accurate driver's log sheets.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 3 years' driving experience.
- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- A valid code 10 driver's licence.
- Knowledge of route planning and mapping.
- Quick-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of road safety and traffic regulations.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional and courteous approach to customer service.
