The role involves managing delivery schedules, driver performance, route planning, fuel usage, and asset maintenance, while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and manage transport operations (loading, delivery, driver management).
Monitor budgets, prepare monthly financial reports, and control costs.
Optimize routes, track vehicles, and ensure on-time deliveries.
Lead and develop a high-performance team through coaching, training, and succession planning.
Ensure compliance with audits, health & safety, and legislative requirements.
Manage company assets, equipment maintenance, and consumables.
Prepare accurate reports, payroll submissions, and performance monitoring.
Mitigate operational and financial risks, including stock losses and damages.
Requirements
Grade 12 with Higher Grade Math and a relevant tertiary qualification.
57 years experience in transport, people management, health & safety, and multi-site operations.
Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Projects, Outlook) and advanced systems.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
Results-driven, organized, and able to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
