The Training Facilitator will be responsible for the training, assessment and ongoing development of Security Officers and Code 14 Drivers , ensuring operational competence, legislative compliance and adherence to organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and assess theoretical, practical and on-the-job training for Security Officers and Code 14 Drivers
- Deliver training on operational procedures, defensive driving, road safety, risk awareness, customer conduct and soft skills
- Identify skills gaps and operational risks and implement corrective and remedial training interventions
- Conduct in-house, practical and on-the-road driver training and assessments
- Train and assess security personnel on site procedures, access control, incident reporting, emergency response and discipline
- Monitor, evaluate and document learner and employee performance and training outcomes
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including PSIRA requirements, Road Traffic Act, OHSA and company policies
- Maintain accurate training records, logbooks, assessment results and statutory documentation
- Develop, review and update training materials and methods to meet operational and regulatory standards
- Liaise with management and operational departments to coordinate training schedules and requirements
- Manage training resources, equipment, vehicles and materials
- Report regularly to management on training progress, challenges, costs and operational impact
- Attend scheduled operational and training meetings
- Ensure confidentiality of all employer information, training material and operational data
- Assist with disciplinary processes, time and attendance and performance-related documentation where required
- Take ownership of training-related projects and ad-hoc operational initiatives
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Training & Development, Security Management, Transport or a related field
- Registered Assessor and/or Facilitator
- Proven experience in training Security Officers and Code 14 Drivers
- Sound knowledge of PSIRA requirements, Road Traffic Act, OHSA and industry best practices
- Valid Code 14 driver’s licence (essential for driver training)
- Valid PSIRA qualification
- Strong facilitation, communication and reporting skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple training interventions
