Start free — we apply for you →PURPOSE OF THE JOB Coordinate and deliver Apprentice and Engineering training for Diesel Mechanic Trade BALANCED SCORECARD PILLARS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc. Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox) Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status CUSTOMERS Ensure Customer Satisfaction Manage learner performance against set targets and competencies Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.) BUSINESS PROCESSES Conduct Diesel Mechanic trade related training (Apprenticeship, Short courses, on the job training). Assist with the development of new training material, update existing training materials and programs. Conduct Assessments Conduct Moderation – 10% of trade test assessments and cross moderation of all POE’s Conduct and coordinate trade test, ensuring quality outcome. Ensure all relevant training material is updated and saved on EBMS Benchmarking Engineering training best practise. Maintain safety as per Samancor Chrome standard in workshops at all times. Ensure discipline is managed in workshops/area of responsibility. Responsible for maintenance of workshop, equipment, and tools. Provide input with regards to the expansion of facilities to comply with Engineering / QCTO training requirements. Ensure alignment with SETA requirements Maintain applicable procedures for processes in area of responsibility. Assist with budget inputs. Assist in community projects - skills upliftment. Demonstrate and apply an understanding of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (Act 75 of 1997) Knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, and curriculum development techniques Knowledge of competency assessment Knowledge of the Artisan role and responsibilities within Samancor Chrome Mines and Smelters Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) Knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Strong planning and organizational skills Skilled in writing reports and correspondence Demonstrate knowledge of learning management systems
