Start free — we apply for you →OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Trainee Network Administrator is responsible for supporting and learning the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the organization's ICT infrastructure. The role provides hands-on exposure to cloud, server, networking, collaboration, backup, and end-user support environments while developing the skills required to become a fully competent network administrator. The incumbent will assist with daily operational activities, system monitoring, incident management, vendor coordination, and infrastructure reporting while receiving structured training across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, virtualization, networking, server administration, and cybersecurity best practices Microsoft 365 & Azure Administration Service Support: Assist with administration and support of Microsoft 365 services. Identity Management: Monitor and manage Azure Entra ID user accounts and groups. User Access Control: Support provisioning/deprovisioning, password resets, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and group memberships. Cloud Infrastructure: Assist with Azure virtual machine deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Resource Monitoring: Monitor Azure resources and report anomalies. Governance Support: Support cloud governance and compliance activities. Server Administration Environment Maintenance: Assist in the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, Exchange Server 2016, and on-premises infrastructure. Health Checks: Performing daily server health checks. Performance Monitoring: Monitoring CPU, memory, storage, and system performance. Log Analysis: Reviewing event logs and system alerts. System Maintenance: Assisting with server patching and updates. Uptime Tracking: Monitoring service availability and uptime. Business Continuity: Supporting disaster recovery activities. Virtualization Management Hypervisor Administration: Assist with management and monitoring of Microsoft Hyper-V Hosts, Windows VMs, and Linux VMs. Lifecycle Tasks: VM provisioning and decommissioning. Resource Allocation: Resource allocation monitoring. Health Tracking: VM health and performance monitoring. Data Protection: Snapshot and backup management. Disaster Recovery: Disaster recovery testing support. Network Infrastructure Support Hardware Administration: Assist with administration and support of the Aruba Network Environment (Aruba Switches and Aruba Wireless Access Points). Monitoring: Execute proactive network monitoring and switch/AP health checks. Fault Resolution: Troubleshooting network connectivity issues. Configuration: Assisting with VLAN and network configuration changes. Wireless Optimization: Supporting wireless network performance optimization. Documentation: Maintaining accurate network documentation. Backup and Recovery Administration Platform Oversight: Support the management and monitoring of Azure Backup Services and On-Premises Backup Solutions. Operations: Monitoring backup jobs and verifying backup completion status. Remediation: Investigating backup failures. Validation: Assisting with restore testing. Reporting: Maintaining backup reports. Business Continuity: Supporting business continuity and disaster recovery procedures. Printing Services Administration Fleet Management: Support and maintain HP Printers, Secure Printing Servers, and Print Management Systems. Deployment: Printer deployment and configuration. Support: Troubleshooting printing issues. Server Health: Monitoring print server health. Vendor Relations: Liaising with printer support vendors. Assets: Maintaining printer asset records. Monitoring and Preventative Maintenance Operational Checks: Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly infrastructure checks covering Azure, Active Directory, Exchange, Hyper-V, Network Equipment, Backups, Storage, Printing, and AV Systems. Risk Minimization: Identifying potential risks and escalating issues proactively. Checklists: Maintaining operational checklists. Continuous Improvement: Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
