Trainee Data Consultant

Introduction

CWare is recruiting an Trainee Data Consultant for a client based in Johannesburg.

The Trainee Data Consultant is expected to develop technical and functional skills in the area of Data Migration, as well as consulting skills. Over a 3-month training period, the Trainee Data Consultant is expected to become proficient in SAP Data Services, SAP Migration Cockpit and other ETL solutions.

Thereafter, the Trainee Data Consultant will be skilled and placed on a project. The Trainee Data Consultant is also expected to display a high level of skill with SQL within a data analysis environment.

Candidates without the relevant experience will not be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participates in discussions and workshops.

• Develops documentation as requested.

• Executes test scripts and assists with testing as directed, applying critical thinking.

• Develops as per directions given, and provides support in documentation, knowledge transfer and testing.

• Creates load files, validates data, and extracts, transforms and loads data.

• Prepares data files, loads data files and configures portions of a solution as instructed.

• Interprets a Functional Specification document and can document a requirement in preparation for build.

• Interacts and communicates effectively with the customer, project team, internal team and related teams as necessary.

• Gathers information and facts. Analyses business information and data, drawing relevant conclusions.

• Demonstrates capability and produces work that is approved by management.

• Sets priorities appropriately and ensures that work outputs are timely and of the highest quality.

• Learns and uses the SAP Activate methodology and tools, or any other agreed project methodology and tools used on projects.

• Develops and displays conceptual knowledge of the organisation's solutions, services and products, and develops a clear understanding of SAP data quality and data management concepts.

• Analyses data to determine data quality issues and suggests methods and rules to improve data quality / cleanse data

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BSc degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 1-2 years of working experience in SQL.

• Good knowledge of relational database modelling and SQL.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-starter and highly motivated.

• Results-oriented with a commitment to objectives.

• Enthusiastic and willing to learn.

• Works as a good team player.

• Applies logic / logical reasoning ability.

• Strong analytical skills and highly observant.

Package & Remuneration

R20,000 – R22,000 per month, dependent on experience.
