Positions available within the central and broader Gauteng area for Trainee Business Brokers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Business brokers source potential businesses for sale, and manage the entire transaction process—including valuation, confidential marketing, buyer screening, and negotiation—to ensure a smooth transfer of ownership .
Key responsibilities include
- Approaching SME business owners – through networking, tele-appointments, LinkedIn and FaceBook connections and cold canvassing - with the view to offering a free business valuation.
- Obtaining mandates to market and advertise the business for sale.
- Processing buyer inquiries including prequalifying the potential buyer.
- Acting as the intermediary through the entire due diligence and negotiation process, to the point of deal finalisation by signature of the share sale agreement.
- Facilitating the business handover process.
Minimum Requirements (including experience)
Prior experience within the business brokering field would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite as ongoing training shall be provided.
Minimum Grade 12 and 5 years working experience, preferably within the financial services industry
Key Skills & Attributes
Although brokers will enjoy ongoing training and management support, they will operate independently and therefore need to be disciplined, self-motivated, quality and target driven.
Brokers should be confident and well-groomed persons who possess excellent communication skills.
All brokers should be competent in MS Word, Excel, LinkedIn, Facebook and emailing.
Own reliable motor vehicle and valid driver’s licence is essential.
Remuneration
Whereas business brokers (much like estate agents) typically work on a commission basis, we offer a structured remuneration package including a conditional salary – subject to minimal realistic achievements – of up to R 17500 pm, plus commission.
