Trader/ Store Manager - Retail

Introduction

We’re looking for more than a store manager—we’re looking for a trader, leader, and brand‑builder to drive our store in Gauteng’s most competitive retail market.

Duties & Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team, ensuring strong people management and alignment with company values.

• Run a smooth, compliant operation—from stock control to customer service.

• Ensure store merchandising excellence: maintain visual presentation, product placement, and promotional displays to company standards.

• Uphold operational and brand standards across all departments, ensuring consistency and customer appeal.

• Drive compliance with merchandising guidelines while adapting to local market trends in Midrand.

• Identify trading opportunities and B2B partnerships to grow our footprint.

• Analyse local demographics and diverse customer behaviours to tailor promotions and product mix.

• Build strong relationships across Gauteng’s wide cultural and community networks, ensuring the store resonates with a broad customer base.

• Think creatively to differentiate in a saturated retail space.

• Ensure risk management and operational discipline.

Who You Are

• Experienced retail leader (5+ years).

• Skilled in people management, coaching, and team development.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with trading instincts.

• Strong negotiator, able to spot and secure opportunities across diverse communities.

• Strong background in store merchandising and retail standards.

• Ability to translate brand values into in ‑ store presentation and customer experience.

• Innovative and out ‑ of ‑ the ‑ box thinker with problem‑solving skills.

• Passionate about brand‑building in Gauteng.
