What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)
Executing buy, sell and switch instructions, you will place appropriate order types across local and offshore broker platforms and monitor fills throughout the day. You will implement model portfolios and rebalances, process fund subscriptions and redemptions, reconcile contract notes, resolve breaks and monitor settlement, cash and FX. The role also covers transfers, corporate-action elections, audit trails and reporting support for the investment team.
Where you'll be doing it
Within an investment business in Cape Town, the team connects clients and advisers with local and offshore markets. It is a careful, deadline-led environment where accurate execution, prompt escalation and compliance with FAIS and FICA requirements underpin every instruction. You'll be office based 4 days per week in amazing offices in Plattekloof.
What you'll need
An Honours degree in Finance, Investment Management, Economics or a related field is essential. Strong Excel skills, public-markets knowledge, trade-lifecycle and settlement understanding, careful deadline management and clear communication are required. Experience in dealing, trade operations or settlements is advantageous, as are offshore investing knowledge, broker-platform exposure, CFA progress, relevant regulatory credits and Python, VBA or SQL.
