Duties
- Manage and oversee key accounting functions, including month-end close, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Apply and interpret IFRS, with specific exposure to IFRS 9.
- Account for foreign exchange transactions and hedging activities.
- Prepare and review technical accounting papers and provide input on complex accounting matters.
- Drive and support finance automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Support audits, statutory reporting and other accounting and financial reporting requirements.
Education and experience
- CA(SA) qualification.
- 3-5 years post-articles experience.
- Strong technical accounting and IFRS knowledge specifically IFRS 9
- Experience with forex and hedging is preferred
- Experience preparing technical accounting papers
- Mining industry experience is essential
