- Understand the importance and conform to the requirements of the various health; safety; quality and environment policies and procedures
- Form part as an active member of the TPQC Pillar team
- Drive adherence and improvement of QPC Quality Stations across the factory
- Work upon multiple development projects as required. The objectives of these development projects will typically aim to avoid or reduce cost, lower long and short term material supply risks, improve product and process performance and develop new product offerings to the market.
- Give analytical support during quality investigations either internal quality failures or external customer complaints. Follow through on investigations from origin to implementation of countermeasures.
- Assist with resolving process and product problems.
- Write technical reports which state findings of investigations and suggested recommendations to improve; rectify; change; replace or adjust processes; formulations and raw materials to obtain the desired objectives. Drive implementation of recommendations upon approval.
- Ensure all testing equipment on the factory is adherent to standard methods and calibrated as per calibration plans.
- Pro-active identification of wearing or ageing equipment. Research new and innovative measurement technics to improve Laboratory capabilities.
- Manage laboratory consumables and chemicals, place orders timeously and ensure adherence to chemical handling standards.
- Manage shift Laboratory assistants including shift rosters, leave and time management, training and development plans and performance evaluations.
Is this job for you ?
- The ideal candidate must have completed a matric and a degree in Chemical Engineering. It would be advantageous should the candidate possess quality control/management qualification. Must have at least three to five years' experience in a chemical/process and quality engineering position in a continuous process manufacturing environment. The candidate must have two years' experience in a management/leadership role. The required candidate should be familiar with management of the autonomous maintenance pillar, application of 5s improvement projects and should be able to apply the basic tools OPLs, SOPs, Tags, QKs, EWO's, etc

- The role's objective is to develop and introduce Quality control and process improvements using the tools within the Q&PC Pillar linking through to step Zero. The primary objective will be to improve process performance KPI's focussing on the key areas of Yield loss, and customer complaints. Also involved in WCM projects within the plant that links to Product Quality and take lead in raw material trials and New Product Developments. To undertake these tasks in an efficient safe manner meeting with SHE legislation, company policy and Managers rules.
