Tops Managers and Supervisors

Introduction

We are a private company that owns and operates several established SPAR, SUPERSPAR, and TOPS stores. We are looking for experienced, hands-on and driven TOPS Managers and Supervisors to join our retail liquor operations within the Cape Town area.

The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting with or managing the day-to-day operation of a busy liquor store, with a strong focus on sales, profitability, stock control, shrinkage, customer service and staff performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Achieve store sales targets, budgets and profitability objectives

• Control store expenses and minimise shrinkage and stock losses

• Manage stock levels, ordering, receiving and GRV processes

• Participate in stock counts and investigate stock variances

• Ensure transfers, claims, returns and invoices are correctly processed

• Maintain high merchandising and housekeeping standards

• Manage front-end controls, floats, cash-ups and cash-handling procedures

• Supervise, guide and motivate staff to achieve maximum productivity

• Manage staff scheduling, attendance, timekeeping and overtime

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and controls

• Maintain high levels of customer service and deal effectively with customer complaints

• Assist with and implement promotions and promotional activities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date store administration

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security and legal requirements

• Communicate operational, staffing and performance matters effectively to Senior Management

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12

• Relevant retail qualification will be advantageous

• Previous management or supervisory experience in a retail environment

• Strong stock control and administrative experience

• Good numerical ability and attention to detail

• Strong people-management and leadership skills

• Ability to delegate effectively and hold staff accountable

• Ability to identify and solve problems

• Able to work independently as well as part of a team

• Honest, trustworthy and customer-service orientated

• Willing to work retail hours, weekends and public holidays

LIQUOR RETAIL EXPERIENCE WILL BE HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS.
